What is a CSCS?

A CSCS or Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist is a fitness professional who specializes in training athletes to meet sport-specific strength and conditioning needs and targets. The CSCS is a certification offered by the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Do you train anyone?

The short answer is no. Federal law prevents us from providing handgun training to non-U.S. citizens.

We are willing to train anyone to meet sport-specific or occupation-specific strength and conditioning requirements. We do not train individuals for general health and fitness or strictly for weight loss goals. We believe the body you want is a byproduct of the sport you train for. If you want to look like a runner, you should train like a runner.

How long does it take to become a good handgun shooter?

It’s almost impossible to define “good” in the world of handgun shooting. There isn’t an agreed upon national standard for what constitutes good.

We believe that “good” means understanding that a handgun is a tool, not a solution to a problem. Developing critical thinking, reaction time, and personal fitness focused on power, agility, and cardiovascular endurance are the actual solution to a violent problem.

To be a proficient shooter we expect our students to be able to engage a target from 7 yards with 7 rounds on a USPSA target from concealment in under 5 seconds. Then move diagonally five yards to three-yard target and engage a playing card-sized target with 6 rounds in under 8 seconds (this includes the run to the three-yard line), before walking backwards while engaging two targets with 5 rounds per target until the shooter reaches 10 yards from the targets. All hits must be in the “A” zone. The shooter must alternate between targets while walking backwards. Note: At least one magazine change will be needed.
